COMMUNITY SERVICE

As part of fulfilling our mission, Wane Salon is continually giving back to the community. Some of our community outreach programs include:

Legacy Counseling Center
We are involved with the retreats that Legacy Counseling Center offers to women who are HIV positive and/or have full blown AIDS. The retreat provides women with Christian and spiritual talks as well as counseling. Wane Salon stylists come in on the last day and get to send them off with great hair and makeup.

Our Children's Center of Irving
Wane Salon hosted an event at the salon for girls ages 6-14 to come in have a day of being a girl complete with refreshments and a picture of their new look. The girls chose to have a combination of three services that included: hairstyle, nails, toes, eyebrow wax or makeup. The proceeds from the ticket sales went to support Our Children's Center of Irving. The Center provides therapy and social services support to children in addition to a daycare program for children with special medical needs and their siblings regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Locks of Love
Wane Salon is a participant in the Locks of Love hair donation program. A free haircut is offered to those who donate a 10" or longer bundle of hair.

Locks of Love is a not-for-profit organization that provides high quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children with medical hair loss.
